Fools Lot Accepted

I am
Laurelled
By indifference:

Your mothers,
They will not love me;

Your fathers,
How could they understand?

There is nothing but love
In the self making war;
Wisdom as light
Shines no victor.

Wisdom is
No victory,
No loss.

I send out my messages
So I can dissappear
Into the chorus,

Accepting
Fate’s not some hoary old grandfather
To smile and bounce little lives on bent knees.

What else to do, though,
But to play hard,
A good child
With meaning;

To choose wisely
This fools lot,
Cracked mouth
Unbroken,
Smiling wide.
